How we test laptops
Our laptop reviews, we want it to be more than only personal preference, or worse, same marketing lines that every other laptop website is publish again and again.
Abir, who is founder, is writing about laptop hardware from more than 10 years, back when most of websites was promoting “gaming” laptops which we found later that throttled very hard within few minutes only, under load, just because these laptops were selling good online. We don’t want repeat this story again. This is reason why we actually testing every single laptop that we are recommend, plus also doing many hours of research about different manufacturer and technologies which is behind each of product.
Our deep performance testing allow us for compare different models (and also different chipsets) in like-for-like manner, because every laptop is get tested for doing exact same jobs in exact same environment.
Inside our climate-controlled test room, we runs fixed sequence of workloads for generating sustained CPU and GPU load. After that we setting up our thermal camera and power meter for tracking the surface temperatures, clock speeds and wattage draw.
Next step, we boot into our benchmarking suite and we log the performance remotely across battery of synthetic and real-world tests. Test will end when frame times or render scores get stabilize. This we repeat at each power profile.
